Vicky is a Licensed Professional Counselor and has worked in various positions in the mental health field for 13 years. She provides individual, couples, family and group therapy. Her experience is with individuals ages 12 and older. Specific areas being addressed include depressive and anxious symptoms, racing thoughts, self-esteem, relationship issues, etc. Vicky’s chosen method of therapy is cognitive behavioral therapy, with the belief that our mind and thoughts can control how we feel. She believes in the power of meditation, mindfulness, yoga and other holistic approaches to make an individual healthy. She helps individuals to identify their triggers and barriers in order to reduce them and incorporate coping skills and a support system. Vicky tries to consider all aspects of an individual’s life; such as their sleep patterns, diet, and medical conditions. She believes that there isn’t one specific way to help everyone and tries to meet the individual where they are at, trying to address each small issue. Vicky believes that the hard work comes in when the individual leaves the session, therefore she provides her patients with reading material and resources in the community for additional support. She believes that everyone in life struggles with something, therefore she began facilitating a women’s empowerment group and a podcast, both which encourages individuals to share their journey to empower themselves and others. She believes that everyone can benefit from a listening ear and a caring heart.
She sees her clients struggles within herself and that lead her to begin facilitating the Lehigh Valley Women’s Empowerment Group in March of 2018, along with 2 mentors and business owners- Wandra Cain of WC Interiors and Cristy Mette of Joyful Self Wellness Center. They can be found on facebook and meeting the first Monday of every month for free groups and speakers. They provide unconditional love and support for all women in the community. We recently expanded to Lehigh Valley Empower Our Community which will offer groups and services to the community- not just women but also men and children too- http://www.lvempowerourcommunity.com.
In February 2020, Vicky set up a YouTube channel- Victoria Alercia-Casella Counseling Services where she provides Community Connection Podcasts with my professor from Graduate School (Mark Kenney from Cheston Hill College. This show provides Mental Health support and awareness for our community. It also provides a platform for all individuals to share their story and have their voice heard. Topics and guests can be recommended for any topic that the community would benefit in learning about. This program educates our community and offers compassion, guidance and support. You are not alone.
Vicky is always looking for opportunities to volunteer her time, connect with others and help our community.
Vicky hopes to continue to share her vision and passion with the community by hopefully publishing her first book by the end of 2020.
The possibilities are endless when you have passion for what you do it life.
