The Red Shoe™ Monologues

On November 8th, 2025, a community of local women, men, and children took to the beautiful Civic Theatre stage to connect, educate, and entertain Red Shoe™ ticket-holders in a new and innovative way—with the inaugural launch of The Red Shoe™ Monologues. The Red Shoe™ Monologues was born out of an idea to help tell the story of the foundation of BW NICE and to share more intimately who we are. This production is a collection of hopes, dreams, and important topics surrounding women and children in need of peace, safety, and freedom. “I’ve seen first-hand what a show like this can do. It’s magical. Thoughtful storytelling has the ability to change lives. I can’t wait to see what we’ll accomplish and where this all will lead!” – writer, director Kate Hughes. It was an afternoon of laughter, joy, camaraderie, and – of course, red shoes!

Our annual charity fundraiser benefits Third Street Alliance for Women & Children in Easton and BW NICE, Inc. Third Street Alliance, known as the “Mansion With A Mission,” offers services for homeless women, children and families, often the result of a job loss and having no support system, physical and/or emotional abuse from a significant other, alcohol or drugs.

BW NICE, Business Women Networking Involving Charity & Education, is a professional women’s empowerment organization that provides women at all stages of business and personal life with support, education and resources. Each BW NICE Chapter is dedicated to raising funds and awareness supporting a local organization in the fight against domestic violence and sexual abuse.

DOCUMENTARY FUNDRAISING To fully and creatively capture what BW NICE Lehigh Valley is setting forth to do with its inaugural production of The Red Shoe™ Monologues, we sought collaboration to create a documentary — “The Making of The Red Shoe™ Monologues.”

EMMY® AWARD WINNING, Jeff Hartney, Founder of The Production Pocketknife LLC, will create this vision. This film will beautifully narrate the work of the non-profit, BW NICE, the Red Shoe™, and how a new idea can have a ripple effect in our community and beyond. The film is set to premiere at Civic Theatre at a later date.
