Outreach Director The Pennsylvania Association for the Education of Young Children (PennAEYC)Biography
I serve as the Director of Outreach leading the Pennsylvania Association for the Education of Young Children’s (PennAEYC) grassroots outreach and advocacy work with the Early Learning PA (ELPA) advocacy issue campaigns. Early Learning PA is a broad-based coalition that advocates for access to voluntary, high-quality early care and education and healthy development opportunities for all Pennsylvania children. ELPA’s public policy agenda focuses on five key components: pre-kindergarten, child care, home visitation, perinatal and child health, and early intervention.
PennAEYC is the state affiliate of the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC), a dynamic membership organization of early care and education professionals.
I’ve worked in the early care and education field for seventeen years. Through my work as a Local Education and Resource Network (LEARN) Coordinator and an independent consultant for various education-focused nonprofits, I’ve developed relationships with center directors, staff, and families at both for-profit and nonprofit child care, group and family centers. I’ve acted as a liaison between multiple working groups composed of legislative, school, business, and community leaders. I serve on the the Career Institute of Technology Occupational Advisory Committee and as Membership Director for BW NICE Lehigh Valley. I’m also a member of the American Association of University Women (AAUW), Lehigh Valley Early Childhood Education Collaborative, Lehigh Valley Chamber of Commerce, Lehigh Valley Photography Club and the Kiwanis Club of Easton. I have a Master of Public Administration and a Bachelor of Arts in Communications, both from Kean University.
