Gerri Burns, former educator for 32 years is the owner and President of IDT Secure and benefits coordinator for LegalShield/IDShield, a legal service plan and identity theft monitoring and restoration program. She is a certified identity theft risk management specialist, and one of an elite group of National Employee Benefits Consultants specializing in helping businesses of all sizes deal with their legal needs and  best practices on the federal laws regarding identity theft through LegalShield and IDShield 2 companies that are  almost 50 year old. In order to receive this certification, Gerri completed five areas of study and testing:

 Understanding Identity Theft

 Credit Reports, Specialty Reports and Public Records

 Consumer Protection Law Summaries

 Identity Theft Risk Management and Resolution

 Identity Theft Risk and Issues for Businesses

Gerri is one of the first individuals in this area to receive this special certification. It qualifies her to counsel individu­als about identity theft. She also has knowledge of consum­er laws that have been developed to help consumers if they happen to become victims as well as the information they need to begin restoring their identity if it is compromised. Gerri also has a legal producer’s license in the state of NJ and 6 other states. This license gives her the ability to offer legal plans in those states.

Gerri will able to share information on the 7 different types of identity theft, different data breaches, and tips to help you be proactive. You can’t stop identity theft from happening, but you can be proactive.
