Mary Pat Kochenash is an occupational therapist and owner of Flip the Switch, LLC.  Her 30+ year career as an occupational therapist led her to establish Flip the Switch, LLC in 2019 to provide education and consultation for brain based learning to teachers, administrators, human resource personnel and parents.  Her passion and enthusiasm for all things neuroscience led her to specialize in various areas of interest:  Applied Educational Neuroscience (AEN), Executive Function (EF) skill development, trauma informed learning, neurodiversity (ADHD & Autism), sensory processing, mindfulness, foundations for mental health.    From consulting with teachers to teaching children about their brains, she has developed programs in and presented on these topics and more.  Her passion for mental health development and her conviction that this information, in the hands (and minds!) of teachers, employers, and parents will lead to a better world motivates and challenges her to “Do the work”!

Flip the Switch offers education on these topics and consultation on Their implementation to schools, businesses and organizations.  Additionally,  Flip the Switch offers two family support packages – ADHD Support and Felt Safety/Behavior support.  A future online course on these topics is planned.  All services are customizable!

Notes

A little bit about my background:  I have a BS in Speech Pathology & Audiology (Teaching the Hearing Impaired) from Penn State University, a Post-Baccalaureate Certificate in Occupational Therapy from Kean University and a graduate certificate in Applied Educational Neuroscience from Butler University.  I also have a specialty certificate as a Rehab Services Provider for ADHD from PESI.

What drew me to my current line of work:  Passion for all things occupational therapy.  I knew when I retired from school based OT I would do my “own thing”.

A piece of advice I received that I will always remember:  Better done than perfect!  AND  All behavior from neurology!

My hopes for my professional future is to make a success of my business venture and impact the current education environment.  My hopes personally are a fulfilling retirement with my husband and kids!

Anything else I want people to know:  Oh, so much!!!
