The Secret Weapon to Becoming a Resilient Caregiver
|
Debbie Weiss has always had a passion for helping, teaching and caring for others. Since graduating from The George Washington University in 1985, she has done just that in various capacities, through both professional and volunteer positions. Debbie finds her current full-time job very fulfilling and plans on continuing until she retires; however, she’s recently begun to pursue a passion of hers in addition to her day job.
As a teenager Debbie had to grow up really fast and take care of her disabled father for several decades. Now she takes care of her disabled husband and oldest son which led her to giving everything that she had and feeling angry, resentful, overwhelmed and exhausted along the way. When she turned 50, Debbie took a trip to Bermuda with her friends and for the first time felt like she could actually focus on herself. Since that time, she has slowly incorporated self-care into her daily routine and her life is transformed. Now she helps family caregivers learn to do the same.

Blurring Boundaries Using Digital Marketing
Sonali Deshpande is an accomplished software developer with a Master’s Degree in Sciences who didn’t originally plan to launch a local marketing company. However, one thing she realized early in her career was that she was good at working with people and built the ‘know, like & trust” foundation. So she decided to switch gears and focus on what she was more passionate about – people and small businesses. She learnt the technical side of marketing, and found there was a greater need on the strategic side, especially for small, local businesses that depend on attracting customers from a very small geographic area.
Earned a Certificate of Marketing Strategy, & Digital Marketing from Cornell University and founded InsiderTrendz in 2015. She applies all the skills that she learnt in software development, which combines extensive research, reliable processes and ongoing testing with a heavy dose of innovation and creative thinking.
