Rachel is partner at her family’s third generation accounting firm, Franz Michael Walter, CPA. The FMWCPA business platform is built on a system of client education and works with both business and individual clients.
As partner, Rachel works with clients in numerous fields, including the architectural, pharmaceutical, medical, sales and not for profit arenas. Rachel believes that numbers tell a story and she works with each of her clients to help them understand their number story. After obtaining her Masters in Accounting in 2012, Rachel has focused a great deal of her time with female business owners to educate them on the importance of a sound accounting system and knowledge of the complex tax code.
In 2004, Rachel was the recipient of the Gold Award, which is the highest achievement within the Girl Scouts of the USA. In 2003, Rachel was selected to represent New York at Girls State, a unique government in action learning program that is held by the American Legion Auxiliary. In college Rachel was a Division II scholarship swimmer and president of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee, a committee focused on creating a better student-athlete experience, including community involvement with local primary schools and raising funds and awareness for local not for profits, including Relay For Life. Rachel continues to volunteer her time in support of Girl Scouts, United Vets and Frats, BW NICE, and DASACC.
